The Author

Matt Davis has served as production executive for some of the major animation studios including DreamWorks Animation where he helped the studio produce The Prince of Egypt, El Dorado, Spirit, Sinbad, Shrek and Shark Tale. 

His childhood memories of the story-driven illustrated books of the past inspired The Baizel Berry Bread. He wanted to create a book that would be enjoyable for parents and children—with a story that is intelligent yet entertaining. A college graduate with university degrees in motion pictures and history, he utilizes both of these pursuits in his books which feature richly-crafted nostalgia within a fast-paced narrative.

The recipient of the Writer's Digest Award for children’s literature, Matt Davis continues to work in the feature animation business. He is currently assisting Sony Pictures in the start up of their CG animation division with the films Open Season, Surf's Up, and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. He lives in Southern California with his wife and family.
