About J.A. Aberdeen:

A trained historian and genealogist, J.A. Aberdeen received a History B.S. degree at Brigham Young University specializing in history research. Aberdeen is the author of the critically acclaimed Hollywood Renegades, a scholarly analysis of the independent filmmakers during the golden era of studio control. The sources she uncovered are cited regularly among peers in the historical community, and has brought her to consult for A&E (Biography) and Lucasfilm (Young Indiana Jones DVD extras). 

Aberdeen is also the administrator of the Hollywood Renegades Archive a database of information and original documents on independent film and the cultural influence of the motion picture industry. Many of the historical photos offered through the website are part of the Aberdeen collection.
